After the success of the original Mego 2-XL in the early 80s, the toy
company Tiger decided to bring it back in early 90s. The Tiger 2-XL used
compact cassettes split into four mono programs, rather than the
8-track tapes of the original. It mostly consisted of educational games
and "Choose Your Own Adventure" stories.
In this tape, you are escorted through one of Ripley's Believe It Or Not museums after hours by a mysterious ghost. Once again, 2-XL is letting someone else take care of the questions. As you proceed, your answers are entered into a computer system on each floor of the museum.
If you get all of the questions on a floor correct, you are allowed to access the next floor. In between question sessions, the ghost will comment on certain classic Ripley's items that are apparently in this museum. If you complete all of the floors, you get to play a bonus game. If you answer all of the questions in the bonus game correctly, then you learn the ghost's identity. Failing to answer all of the questions on a section correctly leads to 2-XL and the ghost telling you to rewind the tape and try again.
This tape was originally recorded by the people behind the 2xlbot.com fan-site.
